On Tuesday 8th July members of Chollerton Parish Council, along with Nick Morphet, County Councillor, visited Barrasford Quarry  to understand more about the business and plans for the future. Steve Carter, of Tarmac hosted the visit and explained their plans for future replacement of their asphalt plant as a part of achieving overall environmental targets and extending the working life of the quarry. He also listened to concerns raised by local residents with Councillors and explained the quarry's plans to reduce light pollution from their existing plant and as a part of their future plant renewal plans. Members of the Council were very grateful for the time Steve and his team gave to us and we were very interested  to hear about opportunities for local causes to receive support funding from the quarry.
