We have been advised of 2 proposals for the creation of new woodlands by Northumberland Estates. The first is close to Barrasford and Gunnerton, adjoining Great Swinburne and the second just outside of the Parish, near Birtley, but within an area where residents of Chollerton Parish may have a view regarding the proposal.

The consultation is open until 7th November and offers the opportunity for everyone to express views regarding the proposals as a whole and the specifics of the design and layout. You can view details of both proposals by following the links and password instructions on the below PDFs, but for ease, below is a screenshot of the Barrasford proposal. The northernmost orange area represents an area previously proposed but now withdrawn in favour of the green area.
